Ng Tze Yong, Malaysia's No. 2 badminton player, will have his world ranking points protected for three months following his second lower back surgery. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) confirmed this on Monday, effective since May 1. This allows him to maintain his ranking while he recovers, enabling him to participate in BWF World Tour tournaments once he's fit. Tze Yong's injury sidelined him after just one match this season, and he'll miss the upcoming Malaysia Masters as he aims for a full recovery over the next three months.
